is it possible to jailbreak the ipod touch 3rd generation?
I wish to get a brand new apple ipod hold 3rd era with 64 GB,but i wish to know if there is a jailbreak or if it will be probable to jailbreak as well as when a jailbreak will be available.

First of all. This is not an ipod touch 3rd generation. It is just an update from the 2nd generation for more space and faster processor. So don’t get it twisted. Second of all, since 1st generation and 2nd generation can jailbreak their touch then there’s a 90 percent chance that people can still jailbreak their upgrade 2nd generation..

Samsung ARM 412 MHz processor, 128 MB DRAM with 8 & 16 GB Storage to later include 32 GB capacity
2nd gen – Released September 9, 2008 –
Samsung ARM 533 MHz processor, Power VR MBX Lite GPU, 128 MB DRAM with 8,16,32 GB capacity
3rd Gen – Released September 9, 2009 -
Samsung ARM Cortex-A8 833 Mhz processor underclocked to 600 MHz, PowerVR SGX GPU, 256 MB DRAM with 32 & 64 GB capacity. Not to mention a completely new Broadcom integrated wifi chip including 802.11n, bluetooth & wireless radio. Only the 8 GB model has 2nd gen ipod touch specifications.

As for the OP’s question – the 3rd Gen itouch has not currently been jailbroken but the Dev-Team is currently working on it. They have managed to jailbreak firmware 3.1 but only for Iphone 2G & 3G, Itouch 1st Gen. You can keep tabs on their progress from their website
theres a pattern with how long it takes to jailbreak new iphone OS that both the iphone and ipod touch run on so it might be released around the time of the others or it might not. and david K you were being a dick but bill was a little over the edge about it.

@David K: The second Ipod Touch was just a upgrade from the first Ipod Touch in speed and capacity. So does that make the first Ipod Touch 2G into Ipod Touch 1.1G instead?
Ipod Touch 3G has more then just a upgrade in capacity and speed. It has a camera and is able to use special microphone headphones. This makes it a totally diffrent Ipod Touch then the other two. In conclusion, Shut your fucking mouth before blabbing off about something you hardly know about.
actually the camera was discontinued but it might be on the fourth gen

i have 1 pod touch 64gb 3rd gen…it’s work on me…blackra1n jail break just in 45sec…
easy to use..
after blackra1n icon apears in u’r ipod, instal cydia, appsync 3.1 …then u can install any application/games on u’r ipod touch…
Blackrain will crack it, but if you turn it off, run out of battery, or otherwise turn it off you have to do a restore. Hardly ideal.
